You know, they always talk about a hard act to follow. But how do you introduce somebody that needs no introduction? So I'm really not going to introduce Dr. Burzynski. I'm going to give you a one minute update for those of you that have been following the episode of Dr. Burzinski, the trials and tribulations over the last five or six tears. And then I'm going to let two of his patients actually do the introduction. First of all, as in the case of Dr. Laura, I would like to introduce myself.
I am my wife's husband. And this is Mary Jo, who, along with me, actually, she's the impetus and the energy behind the Dr. Burzynski patient group, along with all of these other people that have been so instrumental. So basically, a lot of you have been asking us and you remember when we first came to Cancer Control, I got a call from Lorraine Rosenthal. I had no idea what Cancer Control Society was and you know, who Lorraine was. And she said, Dr. Burzinski is in trouble. Would you like to present the story here at Cancer Control? Maybe we can help. That was six years ago. Well, with the help of this wonderful organization and all of you people and tens of thousands of people across the country, we beat the FDA at their own game.
I told you then and I told Janelle that Wright would win out and with relay it, it wasn't the the patients, the patient group.
We were kind of the the the the small players behind the scene. But it was the energy of Dr. Burzynski, the good that stands behind this man, the good work that he does, the people that he cures, the lives that were dependent on his work. And that's why he is here today.
His clinic in Houston. Yes, it's operating. Yes. He's treating patients.
He has dozens and dozens of patients in, quote, unquote, FDA approved clinical trials. And yes, thank God he's open for business.
So that's it for the formal introduction, if you will. I think that there are two patients here that really tell you and we'll give you some insight into why all of us have worked so hard and why Dr. Burzynski and his wife, Dr. Barbara Bhajans key, have worked so hard for this cause. And at this time, I'd like to introduce Jodi Gold.
By the way, just by way of bio, Jodi is an executive with Hilton Hotel Corporation.
Jodi, thank you for that clarification. Yes, my name is Jodi Gold. And two and a half, almost two and a half years ago, in
