Yes, I'm Dr. Lorraine Day. I was chief of orthopedic surgery at San Francisco General Hospital for many years. I was a professor on the faculty of the University of California, San Francisco Medical School. And then in nineteen ninety three I developed cancer. The lump was small at first. It was little tiny thing right up on my chest. I didn't think it was anything. It bothered me when I put my seat belt on. So I had a plastic surgery friend of mine. Take it off under local at Loma Linda University. The diagnosis came back. Cancer, which surprised him and surprised me. And in fact, he said, look, this is beyond my pay grade.
Change the way you Live, Act, Eat and Handle Stress
Go to a breast cancer surgeon because he was a plastic surgeon. So I went to Scripps Hospital and had another biopsy. At that time, I thought you could cut cancer out. You cannot cut cancer out. You cannot cut cancer out. And I'll tell you why as we go along. So I thought maybe he could get it all. And he went through the same incision two weeks later after it was healed and put me under a general anesthetic so he could go around in that area with having more comfort for me. And it showed that cancer was all through my chest wall. I changed. I changed my diet completely changed to a totally vegan diet and a vegan diet, totally vegan diet with no animal products, no processed food, no sugar and everything from the garden, the way God made it is the right diet. But there's a lot more to the plan to getting well than just changing your diet. So in about nine months, my tumor returned when it returned. It was about this big. And I think you'll be able to see this up on the screen. It was about the size of a marble. And it's right below the incision where I had the initial biopsy. Well, then I started trying one alternative method after another. You see, I knew as a doctor that I wasn't going to do chemo and radiation because both chemotherapy and radiation cause cancer already had cancers. Pretty stupid to take a treatment that causes the disease you already have. And I knew that I needed to support my immune system and both chemotherapy and radiation. Destroy your immune system. They can show damage from chemotherapy 10 years later, including in your brain, even though you've had chemotherapy for some other organ in your body. They'll show a cognitive deficits, deficits and the ability to think 10 years after
