Good morning, everybody. Well, you've had the dopamine talk. You've had the Sierra tone in talks. Are you now all happy and relaxed? I put it to you, this might be the caffeine talk. So if you if you're all wearing your seat belts, off we go, OK. Hands up anyone who's read the book, The English Patient or seen the movie The English Patient. How many of you. OK. Well, I'm the English doctor.
I'm easy to pick up in a crowd, especially if I'm talking because I'm the one that doesn't have an accent. All you guys have an American accent. I've been here five years now. When I first came that I was told in good faith that if you say anything with a British accent, you sound intelligent. So I said, OK, how about a tax on tea? A lot of Americans don't get it because they know that they don't know their own history. OK, we're going to talk about cancer. Obviously, I have to make this disclaimer. I didn't hear anyone else make the disclaimer.
Maybe there's a global one for this conference, but please don't sue me if you do something I say it doesn't work out like I said it would. OK. Now we're going to talk about a formidable disease. OK, so that's like a 50 50 chance. We all know what Russian roulette is. Okay, you put one bullet in a gun, spin the chamber, pull the trigger while it's pointing at your head. You've got a one in six chance of dying. I wouldn't play that even if it was 100 to one chance. Mine. One hundred six to one chance. But would you play it if there were three bullets in the gun? You wouldn't be crazy. But actually, that's statistically, that's the figures that we're facing with cancer. So it's something that everyone has to know about. And that's one of the missions I've got is teaching everyone and saying to everyone, we're all battling cancer and it's pretty dumb to wait until it arrives. You know, you get the diagnosis, your knees are shaking. That's not a time to go onto Google and start searching for alternative remedies. You should learn
