Thank you, Frank. Well, I'm not a doctor, nor do I.
Okay, ladies and gentlemen, I am particularly pleased to be here today because this year some very interesting and important developments have taken place. Not only that, but I love to follow these wonderful speakers, one of whom we have just heard, who give you background and information and important knowledge to learn prevention of cancer and all the carcinogens and all the damaging substances that go into your system all the time.
I hope to be able to give you a reverse. Namely, how to detoxify and how to heal. That's what my father did. Already some 45 years ago. And some of his former patients are still alive if they were young enough. And we are able and very happy to be able to continue his work effectively.
Now, one of the wonderful things that happened this year, a book came out. It's of all things, it's called the China Study, written by a professor of nutrition. Some 30 years or so at Cornell University and 10 years at another university who has studied nutrition all over the world.
And this book gives very clear and incontrovertible information showing that animal proteins are damaging and dangerous, that animal proteins. He calls the number one carcinogen in the world. Animal proteins. Now, as you may know, the Gersen therapy is vegetarian for many, many, many years. We have been treating patients with a vegetarian nutrition. I personally have been vegetarian for more decades than I can remember. And obviously, I can also show you that I'm neither weak nor tired, nor do I have osteoporosis. My back is straight and I will have to admit to 83 years.
And it's very interesting midterm, because Professor Campbell, when he first joined Karl and Cornell University, a group was sent to the Philippines. And the idea was to overcome the poor children who were starving. And he was particularly enjoined he was ordered to make sure that these kids get better levels of protein. So that's what he did. He raised the protein level of children under 15 from roughly five percent, supposed starvation to 20 percent. At the same time, two physicians in India also were testing the same idea. But on animals, on rats. And to their horror and consternation, it turned out that the children in the Philippines who were getting suddenly increased animal proteins in the fish in the form of casein. In other words, milk derived. They were suddenly coming up with primary liver cancer hematoma. Interestingly, at the same time, the rats that the doctors in India were working on. Hundred percent of the
