Hi, everybody. It's a pleasure to be here.
I'm going to get right to it because I have so much I want to tell you have about thirty nine slides to go through in 27 minutes and I will accomplish this today.
So I first like to give you a little bit of an introduction, which is how on earth how it louder how on earth did I decide what I wanted to present today? Can I tell you everything I know about nutraceuticals in 27 minutes? No, it's never going to happen. So there's several criteria that I use. Then I'd like to share it with you. First is number one, testimonials are great. I love testimonials. I think they're important, but that's not enough for me to recommend a compound. It simply isn't enough. So first criteria is there should be some published data on a product or a compound which I've actually term. Put your money where your mouth is. If you're selling a product and you're not giving it away for free, there is truly no excuse not to have any data whatsoever on your product. Secondly, I want to have some clue about the mechanism of action because I want to understand how that particular substance is going to work. You don't have to know every single thing about the substance, but you should have some understanding. Is it affecting your immune function? Is it going to be antiangiogenic? I want to have a clue about what I would personally recommend to a patient.
And the third thing that's very important are what we call safety studies or L.D. 50 studies. Just because something is natural doesn't mean it's safe. I mean, belladonna, cocaine. I mean, you know, something could be natural. Doesn't mean that you necessarily want to take it. And I want to make sure that the product that I'm recommending doesn't have the same deleterious side effects, perhaps, let's say, as chemotherapy, because then why would you want to give it? You can use chemotherapy and use something that's going to enhance it or perhaps even negate some of the side effects. Now, why did I choose these particular compounds?
Fits all three criteria.
And in addition to that, I wanted to choose things that covered a wide range of cancers. I didn't want to just present on something for prostate cancer or just something for breast cancer, but something that we could all embrace and perhaps maybe all use as part of our therapy. The other thing that was very important and I'm very sensitive to this, having seen patients for 20 years. I started when I was 12. Was that
