Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you, everyone. Thank you, Frank. Thank you, Lorraine and my friends at Cancer Control for inviting me. Let me just give you a just a little bit of a background of what I'd like to accomplish tonight in the mere 30 minutes that I have. I'm not going to be able to tell you everything that I know about nutraceuticals and cancer. We'd be here for hours. We'd be here for weeks. But what I decided to do is pick out some old friends and some new friends. And how I makes a determination about what I use in my practice and what I recommend to my colleagues. And when I give scientific conferences is I have one motto. It's called Show Me the Research. And the reason why I say that to you is we are bombarded with all kinds of products and promises. Some of them are true. Some of them, I can honestly tell you, I don't know. Without any research to look at and the things that I'm going to be presenting tonight, there are dozens. And for some of these things, hundreds of scientific research both on humans and animals. So at least we know mechanisms of action, how these things work. Can we use them with chemo or radiation? The worst thing that I come across is when a patient comes in, I recommend antioxidants. And what is their oncologists say, don't take them. Well, we're going to dispel some myths tonight. I'm also going to tell you that you'll be able to go to my Web site, which I'll put up at the end with all the scientific references to that. You can convince your doctor to do the right thing. And I believe in my heart that every physician and every practitioner at the end of the day wants to do the right thing. So first, we're going to take a little trip and learn about the research game. One thing I have to make clear to everyone is the same animal model is used both for natural products and drugs to determine if a substance is worthy of a human trial.
I'd have to say most of the chemotherapy, all of the radiation, most of what we're using in conventional oncology today went on to human studies with a 15 to 20 percent effectiveness in animal trial trials and what the animal trials are on an animal lover, too. This is how they do it. They take rats. They take mice. They implant tumors. They implant breast cancer, prostate cancer lumps, lymphoma, all different types of tumor cells. And then they use a product,
