Well, good morning and thank you to all the Sunday morning survivors.
I you coming appreciate out. I also want to express my gratitude to the Lorraine and the Cancer Control Society for having me here this morning to talk about ozone therapy, which after doing this for almost 20 years in a full practice type of general medicine clinic, I can tell you in my opinion is without a doubt the most versatile single therapy that I used.
And I'm very happy to talk about it. And the one thing I want to know is if my computer is going to work.
Okay. Could we have the first slide? Just so I can check and make sure this thing is working?
Oh, okay. We're over there. Mm hmm. Lovely. Okay. All right.
Some times, some of the speakers prefer to stand down here where they can see the pictures. That's up to you.
Okay. right. All That's a good point. I guess I'll do that.
Oh, right. Yes. Okay. That's okay. Forget it.
I've got about a half an hour, so I'm going to kind of move along pretty quickly here. Just a couple of business items, first of all. For example, what is ozone?
What Is Ozone?
Ozone is 3 oxygen atoms tied together in a bond. That's all it is. There is nothing else in there, but oxygen. The oxygen that we're breathing in this room is 2 oxygen atoms tied together, and it's very stable. That is the stable form of oxygen. Ozone because of that third oxygen atom stuck in there, is a very highly reactive molecule, much more reactive than oxygen. And in fact, the most reactive of all naturally occurring molecules. And this is why it has all the properties that it has, that I'm going to begin to discuss with you today.
About 3 questions that I'm always faced with when talking to people who aren't familiar with this particular therapy. One is; its ozone pollution, isn't it?
Well, how can you give pollution to people?
Two is, well, ozone is an oxidant? And we all know that our sick and injured people, particularly with cancer and other degenerative diseases are in oxidant stress, so why in the world would you give an oxidant to someone who's already in oxidant stress?
And I'm going to address kind of these questions as we go along here. The the first issue about the pollution is that ozone occurs in 3 forms; one is superatmospheric, above the stratosphere, and it's formed as a byproduct there of U.V. light intereacting with oxygen. The U.V. light essentially blows the oxygen atoms apart and they reassemble
