Ozone is a gas that was discovered in the mid-nineteenth century. Its molecular structure consists of three atoms of oxygen, which makes it denser and more soluble in water [1]. It is highly unstable and rapidly breaks down into oxygen plus a single reactive oxygen atom [1]. If inhaled it can damage the respiratory system and cause inflammation in the airways [2].
