About Geronimo Rubio Sr.
GERONIMO RUBIO, SR., M.D. has been the Medical Director of his own hospital for over three decades. He received his M.D. degree from the University of Autonoma de Baja California Medical School in Mexico. His research at Rubio Cancer Center specializes in immunology, customized cancer vaccines and adult stem cells for regenerative medicine for the treatment of cancer and chronic diseases. Well, welcome, everybody.
I always feel like it's a homecoming when we get together on this Labor Day weekend to really celebrate health, freedom and advances in medicine that are really relevant to what people are going through today.
And so today's program is going to be about immunotherapy, which you've heard Dr. Rubio, Geronimo, Rubio speak on several years. But this year we have some exciting news because after about a decade or so of working with stem cells at Rubio Cancer Center, we have just improved our facility with the state of the art lab. And we have now been certified by the country of Mexico as one of nine hospitals in the country to do stem cell therapies and stem cells create our own stem cells. So isn't that pretty exciting?
Now, my visual aid is actually going to show you the certification slide from the government of Mexico.
And you see, my technology isn't there to help me right now.
Is that but what's exciting to me this year about immunotherapy is how many of you saw the special edition of Forbes magazine in April that had a cover that said, can this man cure cancer? Did anybody see that special edition of Ford's? What I thought was phenomenally interesting. It was announced last year that immunotherapy was the medical breakthrough of the year.
And of course, so many of us that come to this conference are like, come on now. You know, it's been going on forever.
But what's fabulous is that now Forbes magazine is showing that the pharmaceutical companies and providers in the states, let alone around the world, are going to be doing research and advancing in these therapies.
So isn't that pretty exciting? I mean, that means there's a new player out there. When somebody has a cancer diagnosis, when we talk about stem cells, of course, we're talking about regenerative medicine and bull doctor. Well, actually, Dr. Geronimo Rubio, Junior will be doing the presentation on stem cells today. However, what I am thrilled to tell you is I bring Dr. Geronimo Rubeo, senior, the founder of Rubio Cancer Center up is well, some of you have heard my story and some of you haven't. But 11 years ago, when I was touring a book called Staying Calm in the Midst of Chaos, which I had written before the events of September 11.
And I was touring a 20 city book tour after the events of September 11th.
And I found a lump in my left breast. And indeed, I wrote a book and toured a book with Stage three, Breast Cancer and My Body.
