Dimethyl Sulfoxide or DMSO has proven to be one of the most effective medicines ever developed. Since the medical uses of DMSO were first discovered in 1962, DMSO has proven effective in the treatment of ailments ranging from arthritis and athletic injuries to mental retardation, stroke, Alzheimer's, cancer. And in fact either by itself or in combination with other medications, DMSO has proven effective in the treatment of practically every ailment known.

Why is DMSO so Effective

Why is DMSO effective in the treatment of so many ailments? There are several characteristics of DMSO that help explain this. First, DMSO is a very good free radical scavenger. Free radicals have been implicated in degenerative diseases ranging from cancer to even aging. Also, DMSO is a fantastic penetrant. You put a little bit on your hand and if your taster is good. You're able to taste it in your mouth as the DMSO penetrates through the skin into the bloodstream and is transported to the taste buds. DMSO can also carry other medications, vitamins, etc. into the individual cells and it can speed up or potentiate other reactions. All of these factors help explain why DMSO is effective in such a wide range of problems.

DMSO was first approved in the treatment of interstitial cystitis, which is an infection of the inner lining of the bladder. For this disease, it was approved by use of a catheter going up into the bladder. Now, you get the same results by drinking it in juice or water. And this is much more pleasant. The only advantage of using the catheter going up with the bladder is that you can charge more money.

In the late 1960s, DMSO was temporarily banned and testing was stopped because dogs and rabbits that were given massive doses developed a cloudiness in the lens of their eye. This is not a true cataract and it was something that disappeared when treatment was discontinued. Furthermore, it was something that does not happen in monkeys or more importantly, in people. Now DMSO is used directly in the eye for the treatment of retinitis pigmentosa and glaucoma. It's used in a dilute form, but it's very effective in these ailments.

Some Examples of how DMSO is Effective

DMSO has been used in the treatment of cancer since the late 1960s. It was first used in combination with cyclophosphamide, a chemotherapeutic agent. It was found that the DMSO reduced the toxicity of the cyclophosphamide and made it more potent against the cancer. DMSO has been used in combination with Laetrile for over 25 years now. We first used it on a patient who had melanoma, was brought here from
