It is OK.

Hi.

of all, First thank you all for staying. I know it's getting a little late. My name, as you know, is Shannon Quinn. And tonight, I'm going to tell you how to stay heart-healthy with herbs. And I guess this story starts back in 1978. My father as he mentioned, wrote a book called Left For Dead. And he was a very popular speaker here at Cancer Control. And I know this was one of his very favorite places to be. Left For Dead tells the amazing story of how my father, Tarquin saved his own life with cayenne red pepper after his heart bypass failed. Just common kitchen spice. And I want to start there and tell you a little bit about that, because cayenne is kind of the cornerstone in preventing and treating heart problems ranging from blockages, high blood pressure, heart rhythm problems, maybe even to help you avoid a bypass surgery and prevent congestive heart failure.

And he heard the voice of my grandmother, who had been dead for several years. And she said Dick I to come want you over here and join us. And as you've heard from a lot of other near-death experiences, it was very peaceful. It was a a very tranquil place, it was a place that he wanted to be, very friendly. Someplace that he wanted to stay.

And he was tempted to just let himself go, but then he remembered my brother Colin. We have 5 kids in my family. Kind of excessive, but what can you do? And the youngest was my brother, Colin. And at the time, Colin was only 10 years old, which was the age my father was when his father died. And he just remember that he never got over that trauma. So he couldn't very well leave Colin in the lurch. So he forced himself back into his body. And then, of course, he was rushed in for an emergency bypass. And the doctor was holding our hands and telling us that's okay, if
