About Kazuko Tatsumura Hillyer
KAZUKO TATSUMURA HILLYER, Ph.D, O.M.D. graduated from Toho Academy of Music in Tokyo, Japan as a pianist and composer. Invited by the Boston Symphony, she came to the USA in 1961 as one of the first Japanese women. She then received a M.A. Degree in Music from New York University in New York City and finished her Ph.D. in Philosophy credits in 1965.
Dr. Tatsumura then turned to an independent career and became one of the top public entertainment managers in the world and until 1992 she produced an average of 2,000 cultural events each year, traveling to more than 130 countries. She was presented with numerous honors for her work, many for humanitarian causes.
Since early childhood, Dr. Tatsumura showed a strong interest in Medicine. Her interest in helping people with their health issues has always been her passion. In this pursuit she studied Oriental Traditional Medicine in Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China. In 1994 she received her O.M.D. Degree from the International Academy of Education in Tokyo. She established the Okido Holistic Health Center in 1994 and the GAIA Holistic Center in New York City in 2001, based mainly on the wisdom of the East. One of the most popular therapies Dr. Tatsumura uses is the Far Infrared Onnetsu (heat) Therapy, which is based on the combination of the ancient Japanese concept of inner body heat and the modern technology of the Far Infrared Ray from the Sun, originally discovered by NASA in the 1960’s as the Sun’s healing energy.
Traditionally, the Japanese believed that the cause of illness lies in the low inner body temperature. When the body temperature becomes lower than 97.7ºF (36.5ºC), the organs will not function well and the immune system deteriorates, causing illnesses. Far Infrared Onnetsu Therapy has been found to be a remarkable Alternative Therapy for cancer and other degenerative diseases.
