About Eva Edelman

EVA EDELMAN, AUTHOR received her B.A. Degree in Psychology in 1970 from the State University of New York at Binghamton. She continued her education with two years toward a Masters Degree in Mathematics, interrupted, at the end, by her growing fascination with the emerging field of Natural Medicine. She then studied under Bernard Jensen, D.C., John Christopher, N.D. and other pioneers in the health field. She has now worked for over 30 years as a Nutritionist, Herbalist, Health Educator and Journalist.

In 1996, Eva Edelman completed her encyclopedic book called Natural Healing for Schizophrenia: A Compendium of Nutritional Methods. Updated editions continue to come out every few years.

Eva's latest book, Natural Healing for Bipolar Disorder: A Compendium of Nutritional Approaches published in 2009, may well be the first comprehensive volume on the subject.

These books integrate research from Orthomolecular Nutrition, Brain Biochemistry, Herbology, Endocrinology and Environmental Medicine. Her books also contain quotes from patients and doctors along with extensive references.

So I am the author of these two books, Natural Healing for Bipolar Disorder and Natural Healing for Schizophrenia, and the focus of these books is actually nutrition.

And I have studied natural medicine, particularly nutrition in her biology since I was just graduated college many years ago.

And at a certain point, I came across orthomolecular psychiatry, amazing information on how to treat mental health disorders developed by doctors. The chief among them is Dr. Half or the late great actor, half or an F..

And a little while later, Dr. Phifer and at current time, Dr. Walsh. And there's other really great doctors that have worked with this.

And so it's really important to acknowledge them every time anyone speaks about natural therapies for mental disorder, which doesn't always happen. So what Dr. Faught, Dr. Hoffer originally developed was a nice and and see treatment for schizophrenia.

And he gave it to some patients that were believed to be about to die due to this schizophrenia. They were in the hospital in Canada and they recovered amazingly like not immediately, but within weeks. And one of them was a farm boy who was not even talking or eating on his own. And he was given I.V. vitamin C and niacin. And within weeks, he was back to himself, who he was, who he really is, and and left the hospital and went on to be successful in life.

Years, many years later, he was still successful. So that began megavitamins, therapy and later turned renamed by Linus Pauling, two time Nobel laureate as author molecular psychiatry and involved megadose of certain nutrients relevant to the individual, but often with schizophrenia.

Niacin seizing V12 and these six and other nutrients and make it three.

And this eventually Dr. Phifer, who got into what he called bio types. Bio chemistry is related to an interest nutrient need to develop the biotope called his Panya.

And that, by a tape, is most associated with the work that Dr. Hoffer began.

So a person with paranoid schizophrenia, like probably one of the most scary mental health disorders, actually, if you get them early when they're young, is extremely responsive to this type of nutritional therapy and recovers really well as long as they continue the nutrients. So pretty amazing. So. And so this biotope actually corresponds to what many of you might know about with methylation and actually a condition of over methylation. So it was originally called his de Panya because histamine was low and why histamine would be low with methylation is methylation is metabolizes histamine. And if you over mentholated, there won't be much histamine in the body. And
