Wireless Technology

In this video, Magda Havas spends about 29 minutes speaking on "Wireless Technology" at the 38th Annual Cancer Convention held on Labor Day weekend by the Cancer Control Society.

About Magda Havas

MAGDA HAVAS, Ph.D. received her B.Sc. and Ph.D. in 1980 at the University of Toronto, Canada and then did 2 years of Post Doctoral Research at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She then returned to University of Toronto as an Assistant Professor in 1983.

Later in 1989 Magda went to Trent University, located in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada and became an Associate Professor in the Environmental and Resource Studies. She does research on the biological and health effects of environmental contaminants and has worked on air pollution, water pollution and, more recently, electromagnetic pollution including radio frequency radiation, dirty electricity, low frequency electromagnetic fields and ground current.

Magna works with those who have become electrically hypersensitive by documenting their subjective and objective (blood sugar, heart rate variability, blood viscosity) symptoms to help doctors and health care workers determine who is electrically hypersensitive and what they are responding to. She has worked on Sick Building Syndrome in schools and is actively trying to improve guidelines and establish safer living conditions.

Magda helped draft Resolution 15 for the International Association of Fire Fighters that limits use of 5 halls for cell phone towers and helped to draft Ground Current legislation in Ontario, Canada. She provides expert testimony in both Canada and the United States related to the health effects of high voltage transmission lines and radio frequency radiation from cell phone towers.

Magda has more than 100 publications and recently co-authored, with Camilla Rees, M.B.A., Public Health SOS: The Shadow Side of the Wireless Revolution that is available at www.amazon.com.

Thank you very much. It's a real pleasure to be here today. I'm going to be talking about a love affair with wireless technology. And what this person is doing is he's really in love with his cell phone rather than an individual. And I think one of the problems we're having in today's society is that children are being disconnected from other people. They're so used to texting and speaking through some technology, whether it's their computer or their cell phone, that they're really missing the human contact. And I think that's very unfortunate.

Human beings are beings of light, and light is part of the electromagnetic spectrum.

And whether you're looking at it from the eastern medicine perspective or for from the Western medicine perspective, I think all doctors will agree that we're electromagnetic beings of energy. These are the different parts of the electromagnetic spectrum. They've been given different names. Cosmic radiation, gamma radiation, x rays, ultraviolet are all part of the ionizing part of the spectrum. And we know that they cause harm. We have other parts of the spectrum at lower frequencies, infrared, microwave radio waves and extremely low frequencies, about which there is some debate in the scientific community. We know that these energies can actually heal or harm. And today I'm going to be talking about some of the harmful effects, particularly as they relate to our wireless technology, which is called microwave and radio frequency radiation. It's interesting. And Los Angeles and everyone's familiar with the L.A. smog. Well, there's another type of small called electro smog. And if we could see it, this is what it would look like. We generate it within buildings by Wi-Fi and other types of wireless technology. And it comes from outside buildings as well, penetrates through the walls. And if we could see it, it would probably resemble the L.A. smog or the picture that we have here in this particular slide. The reason we're so concerned about electoral pollution is because we are designing more and more technologies to use different parts of the electromagnetic spectrum. It started with the use of electricity and Edison and Tesla back at the turn of the last century. And you can see here that we've invented radio waves. We've invented radar, which is a form of microwave radiation. Television, computers and all sorts of other devices that I'll talk about very briefly here. Every single one of these technologies has been associated with some health effects from electrocution to cancers to radiowaves sickness for our radar operators all the way up to something known as electro hypersensitivity. Dr. Sam Nilam has been doing research in this area
